Dreams and Dignity Foundation is the brainchild of Judson Benjamin (JB), a native son of the town of Arcahaie, Haiti where he and his team are working diligently to help change the educational, spiritual and social trajectory of some of the most vulnerable children. He founded the organization then called Education Beyond Borders in 2007 with a close friend and a relative. Having been born and raised in that small town, JB developed a passion for those vulnerable children early on in his life. After returning from a trip to his hometown, while sitting at the Port-au- Prince airport waiting for his flight to return to the US, he started thinking about how different his life was just because he was living in the US. He was troubled by how a single decision by his late father to move to the US completely changed the trajectory of his life, but at the same time left a lot of of his friends behind, many of which he considered to be extremely bright individuals. Those feelings and thoughts would continue to hunt JB throughout college and his rise in the corporate world. So in the summer of 2006, he made up his mind and came to the conclusion that he not only had an obligation to pay it forward to his hometown, but more importantly, he had an obligation to God to do his best to leave the world a better place than he found it. So it was then that the idea was born to create a project that would provide free school supplies, free tuition, free music lessons, and doing so using the foundation of the Christian life. Today, there are over 70 children at 4 different schools in his home town in this project, children that would’ve either dropped out of school or would have never attended school without the help from Deams and Dignity Foundation.

JB grew up in a community where poverty and limited opportunities made every day life a struggle. With limited access to quality education and creative outlets, his dreams seemed out of reach. However, his passion for learning and debating about all types of subject matters at an early age became his escape, a source of hope and expression. That same passion and commitment to his education paved the way for JB to move to the United States at the age of 16. He spent 2 1/2 years in high school and attended Bethune Cookman University where he received degrees in International Business and French Literature.
After graduating from college, he started a corporate sales career working for major corporations such as Novartis, AstraZeneca, BIC and Home Depot. He is also the owner of Prosperity Investments, a real estate investment company that focuses on acquiring, rehabbing and renting properties in some of the most disenfranchised neighborhoods in the Midwest.
